“Resistance: They Fought Back”
During the Holocaust, Jews did not go like sheep to the slaughter. They fought back. Interviews with historians, survivors and their families reveal unknown stories of Jewish resistance fighters who engaged in armed uprisings against the Nazis. This remarkable film features resistance fighter Vladka (Kaloshka) Meed – Dr. Steven D. Meed’s mother.
Dr. Steven D. Meed is Vladka’s son. In his book, On Both Sides of the Wall, he translates Vladka’s memoir from Yiddish. Vladka tells her story of life within the Warsaw Ghetto, and how she became a courier who risked her life everyday to help her fellow Jews.
