The Tolerance Education Center in partnership with the
Jewish Federation of Palm Springs and Desert Area announce the
2012 Holocaust Writing and Art Contest
Essay topic: Bullying. We’ve all seen bullying. Many of us have been victims of bullying; some have even been bullies. Now that you are a student of the Holocaust, how has your knowledge changed the way you think about and react to bullying?
Art subject: Bullying. If you were to create a poster to discourage bullying and/or remind students of the importance of respecting differences, what would it look like? In your artist’s statement please explain how your poster connects to what you have learned about the Holocaust.
Deadline Friday, March 16, 2012
Winners will be honored at the Holocaust Remembrance Day (Yom Hashoah) commemoration on April 22 at Temple Sinai in Palm Desert.
Winning entries will be on display at the Tolerance Education Center in Rancho Mirage in May.
